Answer:
Check the feedback is good (negatives aren't always fair!) and pay by Paypal. Read the help pages ebay provides on how to avoid being scammed.

Look at the sellers reviews! If they don't have a lot of reviews don't buy the item. If they have a lot of reviews but they are bad dont buy them. If the seller has a lot of good reviews you should be perfectly fine. I have bought a lot of stuff online and its all good :D
Bring up the listing, on the top right hand side you will see the sellers ebay name and his positive feedback percentage over the last 12mths. Click on his name and his full profile will come up, click on feedbacks 'see all' and his full trading history comes up. look at what he has sold and what comments the buyers left. If all his sales have been items with a very low value like 99 pence bits of clothing his rating does not mean too much if he is advertising a 500 quid laptop. I have been on ebay for 7 years and have never had a negative feedback and my sales [much of which have been items for family members] have included 2 cars, half a dozen laptops, a number of cameras, a boat etc so you would be pretty safe buying from me. So don't just check the percentage, check what he has sold and what buyers actually said about him.

As long as the customer satisfaction is at least 98 percent you should be alright check ebay's policies about refunds. Returns and such for full details

heres the score ebay is a very popular site and very well known nationwide i have an account too, its great so dont worry ok and paypal is very very reliable and i shop on ebay too its great i love it ... my family shop on there and my friends u got nothing to lose trust me try it xx
I would look for good ratings and someone who's been there for longer than 6 months. I know thats tough on people who are just getting started, but let other people risk it.

Pay by paypal and only buy from trusted sellers, in case of disputes always contact the seller and try to resolve the problem.....

Yeah! My mum always gets stuff from eBay, it comes wrapped well and in good condition. Never had a bad experience.. but if the positive feedback is really low, I wouldn't buy from the seller
