How many hours do Japanese study per day/week?

How can I be fresh again for 3 more hours of study/work without a nap after a 10-12 hour work day?

  • Dear Quora community, My work day typically consists of 10 hours of work (in an office)+2 hours of traveling (8:30 to 8:30). I want to study for an exam and I need to spend at least 300 hours in order to pass it. I would like to study 2-3 hours a day after work but i am usually exhausted and a small nap won't help because i can't wake up before morning if i go to bed.  I would like to know of a way that will help me freshen up for 2-3 hours of study on weekdays (Mon-Fri) consistently for at least 4-5 months without getting off track. Regards, Ali

You can Take a bath. It refreshes the mood as well as creates a clean, positive vibe around you. Make a playlist of motivational and energetic songs. Music can have a great effect on brain. Infact some studies show that studying (especially maths) while listening to music can speed up the process. You can put up signs around you that motivate. For example, you can put up a wallpaper on your desktop or a poster in your room that motivates you for the purpose. Before going to bed each day, say things in your head like "I will study 3 hours each day" or "I will study properly for the exam each day no matter what". This may sound silly but its effective as those words get into your sub-conscious and you involuntarily stat acting towards it. Finally, the most popular regime of all times: a nice hot cup of coffee can help you stay awake. P.S. I would't recommend you compromising on your sleep as its inadequacy causes I.Q. reduction and efficiency reduction through the day.

Do about 5 mins of body weight exercise when youre really feeling burnt out ,you can up it if youd like .Then take a shower ,youll feel like youre ready to kick some ass .But dont overdo it ,this is just to study to much and youll feel like eating and that makes you feel like a fed anaconda .Also try to break up that 2-3 hours into either 1 hour or 1.5 hour portions ,with a break to walk around ,watch a funny cat video or even a sitcom online ,itll make it easier to commit .

Hello there. Here are some of my suggestions: -Think about how important is the work you are doing. -Think about the impact you can have if you don't do your job. -Drink plenty of water (preferably) or coffee. -Listen to your favorite music. I hope this helps you. Good luck! P.S: Sorry if my english is bad.

Drink cup of coffee, then take 20 mins nap. Short nap will refresh you, but don't make it longer. By the time you get up, coffee will kick in giving you extra boost.

There is no clear answer on this, you have to give the following activities a try and then try to figure out which one works for you. Power Nap (30 minute quick nap) If the power nap is not working try to do it after a meal. Energy drinks, foods (chocolate, red bull, etc) Exercise (Increases blood flow in all of the body including the brain) Stretching (stretching techniques seem to waken people up) Pick some and try it, it will get easier as the time goes and you will be able to pull more longer working hours.

Take a Shower , Talk with your girl friend for 10 minutes , then bang on and....sleep.... ... Just Joking... I think its good to wake up in the morning around 4.30 and study rather then trying to study in night...because at night only 50% of your mind will be in totally active mode , rest will be hanging out with thoughts what has happened in work and all...

1000 mg Vit C and Burpees.  Vit C is a natural stimulant, and healthy for your body, and your body will wash out whatever it won't use.  Burpees are part of a 12-minute high-intensity training (HIT) bursts-of-activity workout - HIT exercises spike your heartrate and metabolism.  If you're sleepy probably your metabolism has slowed down too so speeding it up will help you stay awake and feel fresh.  Burpees -

We've been doing research with Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation which dramatically improves learning and shortens the amount of time one needs to learn new things. We made some designs for easy, discrete wearing to test learning sports skills and even study in a library without looking like a wired freak. It might be what you need as 10 minutes of use gives about an hour of neuroplasticity to improve learning. This means you can cut your study time to about 1 hour in the evening and get the sleep you need. There is no substitute or short-cut for sleep when it comes to your brain so I recommend the TDCS to shorten learning time and skip all the stimulants which actually will be counterproductive in the long run.
