What are some good internships abroad programs that are not expensive?

At what time during the year should undergraduates begin looking into and applying to internships and programs over the summer?

  As soon as the previous summer ends. So August/September. By October/November you should hopefully have interviews and you can have an internship locked up for the next Summer usually by no later than December on that timeline (but probably much sooner if you start early). You can get an internship at anytime before the next summer starts, including the Spring. That's just what I have found to be the best strategy. Also when I say September that's not in stone. I'm basically trying to give the point that you should just start as soon as possible. If you start looking now (in October) you are by no means out of luck. There are MANY companies looking right now, but companies are always looking for interns year round. The Fall is just the best time since a lot of companies try to fill the spots sooner rather than later.
