How to install Google Analytics?

Is there a way to track conversion rate of Twitter or Facebook ads to an app page on Google play store? I

  • Found this... http://techcrunch.com/2013/10/03/google-gives-android-developers-improved-analytics-to-track-users-acquisition-and-engagement-data/ It looks like I need to install Google Analytics code inside the app itself, which also gives in-app analtyics. Is that correct or is there an easier way I can track google play page analytics and sales without having to re-publish the app?

  • Answer:

Yes. You will need to integrate Google Analytics or one of the many alternatives. Once you do and republish (which can be done right away on Google Play) you can start creating customized URLs with the appropriate referral references so that it can be understood and counted by your analytics service. Once you do this you will start to get a better sense of the different marketing campaigns you created. Just make sure your analysis goes beyond downloads and looks at user retention and overall lifetime value. You will find many services out there providing decent amount of downloads but with poor lifetime value.
