What are the 8 characteristics of life?

What might life forms on other planets look like, given the atmospheric and geological characteristics of other planets we've discovered?

  • This is more of a thought exercise than a straightforward question - I assume the basics of life must be pretty similar, whether it be carbon based or other - you need interacting molecules, ecosystems, etc. But what would life forms look like which evolved on other worlds? How would large creatures on a Venus-like planet adapt to continuous storms and extreme temperatures?

  • Answer:

At least within 100 light years of our planet, there is no known living form capable of intelligent. Most planets has elliptical orbit, while earth's is uniquely almost circular orbit. Had earth's orbital not been elliptical, the different between winter and summer temperature will be so extreme, hence life would be impossible. This is why most of other planets with elliptical orbits mostlikely don't have life form on it.
