Boardwalk Empire, Season 4 (2013): What was the Anaconda Realty scam that Margaret's boss got Rothstein involved in?

-
Answer:
"Anaconda Realty" was a fictional creation for the television series to show how the 1920s were full of the same high level scams which plague investors in our era. It is simple a long con real estate scam in which people like Arnold Rothstein invest their illicit earnings in an effort to make even more money. In real, Arnold Rothstein was murdered by New York area gangster when he cheated them out $250k. Although for Rothstein, this was a rather paltry amount, he foolishly believed that he could do this and then avoid retribution. He was wrong.
