  For the most part, the markup doesn't have to have an impact on layout of your website. If the content is already there, it just needs tagged/marked up. There are plenty of websites who incorporate various types of markup without repeating content or otherwise implementing it in a matter that is an exact match of sample code from http://schema.org (or other markup type references).
