I'm looking for a career path. I don't know where to turn or what I want to do, and I am open to options of any types of occupations. I'm looking for something interesting; a career which I would love to have. What might this career be?

Dude, you either have no clue and you need to explore more, or your interests are already next to you, it's just that you didn't consider that you could make money out of them. Get to work, quickly. Before you end up being a lawyer.

I'm looking for a career path. - You should know what are your qualifications and your specializations are. And by reading few of job profiles you can connect yourself to one of the jobs or few of the jobs advertised. I don't know where to turn or what I want to do - Best alternative is visit Linked In and search for similar profiles like yours and visit Monster dot com like job portals and see job profiles, requirements asked, responsibilities listed and its company, its profile itself. So, once you finished reading 15 to 20 profiles - you will arrive at an idea or sorts. I am open to options of any types of occupations. Never ever open to any type of occupation. At least do not declare that publicly. You will become jack of all trades. preserve and reserve your specific occupation and work towards that goal while working for "any". I'm looking for something interesting, a career that I would love to have. Love - needs intimacy and commitment. You know that. These two are not applicable for jobs. If you apply these two to a job , you will be treated differently. Every job interesting. Job is there - to make it interesting or mediocre or boring - is the "job" of you or me.

It would have been nice if I knew what level of education you're currently holding, but anyway its ok. Choosing a career isn't something that should break our heads - if only we knew who we truly are, and what we truly like and want. I'll start by showing you a more general view of careers: Humanities, social science is the first part. Second part is Natural science. If you like maths, physics, chemistry or biology more than other subjects then probably you should focus on the natural science careers. If not then look at the social science careers. Some of the stuff you can find in the natural sciences is Engineering, programming, geology, medicine and yes of course the science physics, maths, biology chemistry. In social sciences, humanities and arts you are offered things like business management, music, law, journalism, fine arts and so forth.Look at the things you enjoy doing, know the kind of person you and you will make the right choice. Good luck!

I was in the same situation as you. When I was young I tried many things and worked odd jobs (even though I didn't actually work that much compared to when I started my career!). I started feeling some pressure at 22 to finish school, then when I dropped out and went back to school I felt even more pressure. I went to Uni first for Mech Eng. (dropped out after 3 years), then College for a 3 year program for a programming diploma then found out that I could graduate in 2 years if I didn't take any co op terms. I got lucky (and smart) by being prepared with a portfolio of any work related to my potential job and got hired in my first interview as a junior developer. This was in 2010 :).I've always loved building things, and music and martial arts have always been 2nd and 3rd. So those are my passions and my other hobbies/passions. So definitely look at what you've had a passion in when you were younger. TL.DR - Work different jobs, be open with different hobbies. You will eventually gravitate towards that something. Make it something you eventually do everyday. And make sure to have a good portfolio to show to people!P.S. Finding a career is not that hard it just takes time, the real work comes in navigating it because there's a lot of pitfalls you can make that might not be in your best interest. Ultimately it is your own career!
