How can a child make money?

If a parent from a middle class family is unwilling to pay for the education of his only child who is a minor, can anything be done legally to make him cough up money?

  • If a parent, who is the only earning member in the family, is unwilling to pay for the education of his only child, who is a minor, despite the fact that he can afford it (let's say he has a salary of Rs.40000 per month), can anything be done about it legally if it is ensured and documented that that money goes only towards the child's educational expenses and nothing else?

  • Answer:

May I ask what level and type of education you are talking about? University, high school? Public/Private?

If the family is below poverty line and the child is a minor, Then the government looks after it. Also as you have mentioned he is a minor and as far as I know there is a compulsory education for minor. But if the father earns as you said around 40k(which doesn't count as below poverty line). I think only way is to file a complaint with children welfare department.
