What are the fields in IIT [India]?

What is happening in India (in the fields of political, social, economic, defense, international relations, entrepreneurship, industrial etc.), today or happened in recent past, that will affect India and rest of the world in the long term?

  • Supreme Court ban on convicted MPs of India Implications The verdict is a landmark in the history of Indian politics and can potentially change the faces in the Parliament in 2014 elections by a large percentage. If the corrupt are removed and a strong law is in place, it will for sure clean the system and ensure much better efficiency for the system which runs the country. What is changing? Effects of the landmark verdict have already begun to show as former Railway minister of India and former Chief Minister of Bihar state, Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to jail on 30.09.13 and hence immediately disqualified from contesting elections. 43 other politicians and Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers were also arrested and those with political ambitions could no longer hope to contest for at least next 6 years, as per Supreme Court ruling. The sword of the judgement hangs over hundreds of other existing MPs which may not be able to contest in the upcoming 2014 elections. This may change the face and the constitution of Indian politics. If that changes the Indian system will change. Every other things will change, be it the benefits for the poor, welfare schemes, Industrial development, national development policies or International relations. Good days for India may well be in the offing! There is lot that's happening on social media, more and more entrepreneurship ventures are coming up, China is more hostile than ever, Pakistan won't stop being ridiculous, and so on. What's more that's happening in India that can change India and the rest of the world?

  • Answer:

    1. The socio-economic imbalance, which is further exacerbated by political parties: Playing the religion/caste trump card, favouring one community & trampling the other and then poking the down trodden for a revolt to create havoc and then saving the community being harmed in all this...blah blah. Old trick, never failed since 1947. Global Effect: Educated will keep on mistrusting the faulty shaky polity we have and will keep on moving to first world countries. Our counterparts we keep on improving on both social & economic front & will further affect the economy of India. India will keep on losing business to emerging markets & scarcity of jobs will increase. No industrial development will bite more when your own currency will be weak [due to other countries progressing better]. Have a look at the facts: http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/heard-of-the-bangladesh-shining-story/article3867058.ece http://www.techinasia.com/companies-choosing-philippines-india-outsourcing-services/ 2. Waste of Natural Resources: India has failed miserably in checking illegal mining of valuable resources. Resources, which help to run various industries. Reason: Politicians, themselves are backing up such rampant monkey business for their vested interests. The same resources, after being sucked out from their source are sold at very high prices in the market. The politicians get the margin, industries have to pay extra for the raw material, in return, the price of the finished good is increased multifolds, the product is now costlier than its foreign counterpart, people are opting for that imported finished product to Indian product, industry collapses in a matter of years. Result: India losing on international business scenario. Weakening of rupee and the same economic-crisis-followed-by-temporary-reforms-loop. We can still manage to live without resources, people will be in bad economic shape or the economic imbalance would be too skewed, but we're not even conserving water and everybody could foresee the tremendous scarcity in coming years yet everybody is ignorant. The day is not far when instead of crude oil, India might be the biggest importer of clean water. That day we won't be monitoring the dip of rupee against dollar but rise in water cost against crude oil. Have a look at the facts again: http://globalvoicesonline.org/2013/07/26/water-shortage-crisis-looms-large-in-bangalore-india/ http://www.google.co.jp/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CD8QFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.firstpost.com%2Findia%2Fwill-bangalore-have-to-be-evacuated-by-2023-697649.html&ei=Xl1OUuPkDKWViAK4jIDQDg&usg=AFQjCNFkXFjL2O278XHGUwcIXPhAOhqSIA&bvm=bv.53537100%2Cd.cGE&cad=rja 3. Careless attitude: It has been a culture in India that when ever you talk about any public related task handled by government, you could bet a $100 million that there's  some scam involved. People in our country toiled to bring in the RTI Act and we're just not using it. Why? Reason: We are scared. We can complain but not fix or aid in fixing. It's never our job to fix the country. We can't even fucking vote properly. I agree to the nepotism prevailing in the political system and how the politicians have grown so powerful to torture us but there power will keep on increasing if not snubbed at the right time. Our politicians are not bothered if the country is improving, the poverty is going down or the literacy is booming. Result: We'll keep on cribbing until: - The last inch on this land is under Robert Vadra's feet, - Every monument in this country is demolished over communal issues, - Every relic of over great history is sold in the flee markets of Italy, for which our great congress has given "No Frisking at Airports facility" to our Natioanal son-in-law, Hon'ble Mr. Robert Vadra. Care to expand The Congress' douchebaggery? 4. Weak foreign policies: Weak foreign policies and every country in our 'benign' neighborhood is trying her hands to snatch the land. Countries like Maldives are bullying us, Bangladesh & Pakistan are infiltrating us, China is playing hide n seek in our porches and Myanmar is silently slipping under our covers to steal a piece. Noob in the league where China plays at pro level: http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/myanmar-army-erecting-camp-in-manipur-territory-allege-officials/article5051727.ece Globally, India will be viewed as an politically unstable and investors' and industrial inflow will be affected. That's enough for the day.

Nothing is going to change, it will still be corrupt and dirty. The old politicians with criminal cases will be replaced by their sons who after some year will again revert to the old pattern of corruption. As such out of 100 cases barely 1 cases is registered due to fear or shame or harrasment. Fundamentals remain the same, its just whitewash to fool the public.
