  There are a number of radio access technologies used by cell phones today. Also the same radio access technology ( like LTE) can operate on different frequency bands in different parts of the world.  The power amplifiers sold by TriQuint have a fixed set of bands/technologies for which they work with the result that you would need to use different versions of the same chip or sometimes different chips for different regions of the world. This is a pain for mobile manufacturers as they would need to produce different phones for different parts of the world and validate each of these.  What RF360 does is that its a single chip which supports possibly every single radio technology out there. This means that mobile phone makers can use this single chip and sell the phone pretty much anywhere in the world, with significant savings in the design/validation of a single phone as opposed to different versions of the phone for different parts of the world.
