Screenplay and acting?

What movies have a great screenplay but weak acting?

  As an actor I just want to say one thing: good screenplays generally promote good acting. That's because you know the character from reading the screenplay. Good acting starts with knowing who your character is, on the most intimate level.   Rather than giving my opinion of a good screenplay with bad acting, here's one way to tell if a screenplay is good and the acting is bad: read the screenplay. If you can visualize richer, more vivid characters when you read it than you perceived when you saw it--it could be due to the performances rather than the story.
