What is a good free CRM to use?

Do financial planners use CRM systems? If so, what do you like about the system?

  • I am working with a start-up company that provides contact management tools (more intuitative than a CRM with less sales components) and wonder if anyone has specific feedback about their use of a CRM tool and how it works/doesn't work in their business environment.

  • Answer:

If your CRM can be *proactive* and recommend follow ups with a simple call to action, you'll be on to something. Today, most advisors use CRM as a backward-looking repository of past client interactions. Most do nothing, aside from adding tasks or workflow (and few CRMs excel at straightforward workflow), to promote actions to pursue in the future. Use http://www.contactually.com for inspiration.
