판도라 by 카라 ('Pandora' by Kara) was the one that worked for me. I'm not even sure why but everything sort of "clicked" when I heard it.

A very interesting video to match a very interesting song is "Solo Day" by B1A4. I was considering their "Lonely" or "What's Happening," but I feel the song and mv would be a song that wouldn't freak a non-kpop audience out too much while also being funny and engaging, while also showing off some very talented composing and songwriting by the group itself. The mv doesn't play too much on the coolness or sexiness, which can make a person who dislikes the sexuality of American pop turn away. The dance isn't incorporated at all, but the storytelling aspect of kpop mv's is definitely showcased, as well as its humor. A nice summer song.

If that person is interested in clubbing, I recommend Hands Up by 2PM That was my gateway to K-pop heaven. You can try Beast's Fiction too if your friend like something slower but still not making people fall asleep.. it sticks to your brain for long long time

EXO's Overdose will blow you away at first listen. :) This song title speaks for itself. Discussing an addiction to love and how deep it consumes you. It’s almost like a call for help to the doctor and incredibly how the song opens with a distorted voice followed by fast clapping which you’ll notice in the dance as well. The lyrics to the title track are quite sensual. If you read the first part of the rap section you will see what I mean. In the comeback showcase, Suho describes Overdose as an urban R’n’B dance track. There is no doubt you will find yourself dancing to this song and copying the point choreography in particular.

They have no interest in pop at all? or just kpop?  Are they closed to it because they don't like hearing what they don't understand? Ok, well here's mine.  So I was in my Mandarin immersion and I kept saying, I can't get into kpop, I need to avoid it, I just can't.  I will be so more addicted to it than I could be to Mandopop and Taiwan dramas, I will get sucked into kdrama quality... and then... I was into Ariel Lin which led to her music video with Super Junior's Donghae and Siwon, so I got a hint of "Sorry Sorry" and as it turns out this is the song that sucked in Taiwan.  but even with that, I kept away for a long time... until.. I heard this one. This one sucked me in. But why stop at one? LOL  If you don't like it, there are tons of others.  Most likely the wall to climb over is one of ignorance than anything else, or dislike of the genre.  In which case, go look at the answers for questions on Quora for Korean music that's less like kpop or something.  There's a bunch.  Search for "Korean music" or "kpop".

In the less mainstream part, I highly suggest Adore U (Akkinda) by the rookie group Seventeen. It has a really catchy tune and this is what I make my friends listen to and they say the song always gets stuck in their heads (in a positive way). I have also seen a female celebrity in the US say she was 'obsessed' with this song. In one word, for me, it's...refreshing.

My gateway drug was this one, Lucifer by SHINee: But there's also VIXX's "On and On":

Hmm, I would think "Gee" by Girls' Generation, or more commonly known as SNSD. Bubblegum pop is pretty much a safe bet for getting anyone into Kpop. Their MV is also very fun and with the cute choreography, it has a high chance of success.
