Which is better career wise for a computer engineering graduate?

What advice will you give to an IIT graduate in Mechanical/Civil Engineering, who strongly wants to pursue a research career in computer science/mathematics, and has completed the basic courses of CS in coursera?

    You need to do just one thing - show that you can do well as a CS MS student. How can you do that? A couple of options (not exhaustive): Take CS courses and ace them Compete in programming competitions Contribute to Open Source CS internships and CS research projects as a UG student
