how to apply flip animation to imageviews in android?

Is it possible to view web applets on systems (like android) not supporting java (Java Virtual Machine) through remote desktop like services ?

  • Suppose I want to view a webpage having an applet animation , on my android device (which can't run applets). Is it possible to actually run the applet in a different system such that the android device can vie the applet through remotes desktop services ??

  • Answer:

You can access your main system through the RDP protocol. Plenty of RDP clients exist for Android. Alternatively, you can use tools like GoToMyPC if you wish to skip the headache of setting up your router to permit RDP access. GoToMyPC has Android and iOS apps you can use for this purpose. Applet animations are nearly extinct now, however. This is usually used to view flash animations. I use RDP on both my iPad mini and my Android devices very often. It's certainly usable. I also do that with my Windows phone at times.

Let me begin with saying what may have been repeated for the billionth time on the internet, no offense intended of course. Just please use a real-time search engine for your queries and not a forum that takes its sweet time to reply. A very popular search engine suggests that this query is popular since a lot of old webpages use java applets like games / animations, and some banks, hell even topcoder has its java application. The results suggest that android lacks most of the classes necessary to run applets, at least a shallow investigation seems to suggest so: EDIT: Quoting http://android.stackexchange.com: Similar questions have been asked here before,  the short version, JAVA applets are not supported on Android. The  version of JAVA used on Android is not just your run of the mill JAVA so  you would need to get a JAVA compiler on the phone first to run any  applets. Which I don't think is possible or at least feasible. Why not just download the Android SDK and make your own app? You  don't have to sell it in the marketplace, but if your app could be used  by others you could do that which might help recover some money spent on  development. So, bottomline: Google if you haven't already, also http://www.appszoom.com/android_games/brain_puzzle/kgs-client_dxnk.html seems to be something that can run applets on android. I'm sorry I can't verify this for you since I don't have an android... Anyway good luck to you for finding something useful Ref: 1. http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/987/are-there-any-android-browsers-that-support-loading-a-java-applet-in-browser 2. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2433338/is-there-a-possibility-to-run-applets-on-android-or-blackberry 3. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5126192/running-applets-on-android
