How to play stream files?

Playing AVCHD files from sd card directly on TV

  • Some HDTV sets can play HD files in Mpeg2/4 formats directly from SD cards. I can do it on my Panasonic plasma TV. The question is what folder structure is required for AVCHD movie to play directly from SD card? I tried BlueRay standard structure with   AVCHD-->BDMV-->STREAM subfolder, but it did not work. Strangely, the SD taken from SONY camcoder using the same structure under PRIVATE folder plus some extra metadata and index files -- does show some 3 out of 30 files. Why I only those 3? Is it a size or the index file that makes it show? How do I control this? Thanks.

  • Answer:

Are you sure your TV gives support for your AVCHD container format files? The real video format in AVCHD folder is MTS format(.mts).If you want to play AVCHD(MTS) files on TV, you can try this http://format-guides.blogspot.com/2016/01/play-fdr-ax53-on-lg-tv.html.If this method still doesn't work for you, please leave a comment.
