Are there any good games out there that can give the player(s) a taste of having their own business (starting up, managing, etc...)? Which do you consider the best and why?

These can be video games, board games, any type of games. Disregard age range. It could be for kids, adults, anybody. Basically, I am looking for a good business simulator. Although the business world is turbulent and constantly changing as the world is always turning, which games would you say are the "best". By best, I mean which games give an accurate picture and an accurate feel of having your own business. This includes ordinary business problems ranging from workplace, strategy, financial, marketing, and operations issues. Thanks

Now as far as I know there haven't been many games which are strictly business simulators.i.e. only dealing with the responsibility of running a business/start-up. However there are a few which I can relate to in a similar context - 1) Age Of Empires 2) Rise Of Nations 3) Civilization 5 4) Manger mode of sports games such as FIFA.etc. 5) Simcity 6) Capitalism 2(just heard of this one) Most of these games are strategy. While playing these games you'll essentially be in-charge of everything in terms of managing your assets, building structures, dealing with competitors, surviving in times of recession (perhaps by using austerity measures), mergers and acquisitions.etc. I say all these terms while drawing a certain parallelism between the said games. Also these are console/PC games. Don't recall any board games of the same but you are bound to come across one or two if you seriously explore. However, just for the record, there is no video game that can actually give you a picture of how to run a business in the real life. I guess you already know that but i'm just fitting it in for others. While playing these games, you are essentially in a virtual world and thus the consequences of your actions are virtual. In the real world there are "n" number of factors that can affect you in "p" number of ways. These games are designed on certain fixed parameters. Hence, once you get a hang of the system you can easily "beat" it. This does not happen in a dynamic business environment.

Rollercoaster Tycoon gives you a great view on all the above mentioned issues. As the name suggests, you are to build and run your own amusement park. The challenge sounds a lot easier than it actually is. It also emphasizes the concept that home-grown (self-made) products are cheaper and can be made better than the available alternatives.
