I want to work in national geographic in India. what should I do.

I m a computer science engineering grad from India. I want to change track and pursue English literature in US. Eventually, I plan to work in education sector (take up teaching, administrative work or counselling). Do I have to take up SATs? How do I go about it? What other options do I have?

• I don't want to work in IT. I have no passion for it. I have always wanted to study literature and now I want to study abroad for the experience of it. I wish to pursue writing at some point of time, but right now I just feel I need more life experience for it. I am currently working in a school. I want to become a qualified teacher. I'm open to all sorts of suggestions.

  I don't think that a degree in English lit is going to be the best fit for what you want to do. You should consider doing a Master's degree in education. There are many good programs in education in the US - for example University of Wisconsin at Madison. I don't know about the requirements, but I don't think you'll have to give the SAT. GRE is more likely. Your primary problem is going to be money. Getting TA/RA or other financial aid is extremely difficult in education programs - but maybe with your engineering background you can get a TA/RA in the maths or CS department. Another thing you can do is take Ann IT job for a few years, save money, and then use that to fund your education in education.
