What's the PH of human body?

How can I know what the ph level of my body is?

  • I have been very sick. I have been detoxing and doing all sorts of treatments for two years now. They are all natural, they are raising my oxygen levels in my body (ozone), and my diet is alkaline. On the days I do treatments and detoxifying the PH level of my urine is very low. On the days I don't do it, my ph level is high. So why are these strips and urine and saliva supposed to be a good way to measure them? Seems to me that detoxing excretes a lot of toxins which are acidic, and make your urine more acidic. So I am thinking that measuring it isn't a good way. You should do a strict detox program and a high alkaline diet en then see what happens and keep it going until your ph levels are lower with the detoxing. Before these treatments my ph levels seemed to be fine. (detox treatments that make my urine of a lower ph are: FIR sauna, epsom salt and baking soda baths, coffee enemas, a very clean alkaline diet)

  • Answer:

Probably because your body was fine before. The body is very good at maintaining this thing called 'homeostasis'. It regulates your body tempurature, cells, and organ functions all by itself. But then, all of a sudden, when you start pouring coffee up your butt (which is acidic, btw), and irritating your intestinal track; your body is probably all, "WTF?!" and wasting its antibodies on some of the funky things you're putting into it instead of healing you when you're ill, or focussing on staying regular. I'm not saying that an alkaline diet ISN'T a good thing .. because it is. It's just that some acidic things are also good for you, such as fruit. Cutting out something completely; be it fat, protein, carbs, an entire food group .. is always going to have adverse effects because your body was probably used to it. Cut out sugar to the extent of eating NONE (some people in my nutrition class eat steak and eggs for breakfast, avocado, steak, and salad for lunch, and similar for dinner to try and avoid 'candida', which is not actually as common as one might think) might make you feel pretty great at first, and it might work for you, but your body needs simple carbohydrates for immediate energy (though not too many), and now it has none. A lot of 'homeo/naturopathic' things aren't that great for you, either. Brushing your teeth with baking soda or strawberries scratches off your enamel, making your teeth more sensitive. Kava kava can give you a heart attack. Enemas actually reduce the mucus that helps poop slide out of your butt; when drinking water and eating fiber is actually the best thing to help your colon, rather than flushing poop out of your bum when your body already wants .. no, NEEDS, to do it naturally. Then it's just going to wonder where it went and what you put up it, and get all irritated and inflamed. The only way you can really get more oxygen in your body is to breathe more deeply, exercise heavily, and quit smoking. Try it with a fingertip reader (the ones hospitals use) one day, and you'll see what I'm talking about. The only way to increase your VO2 max is with vigorous exercise. Try wearing a heart rate monitor some day. Eat some kale. Did your heart rate go up? Nope. That means you don't have any more oxygen in your blood than you did before. Now go for a 2 mile run at sprinting pace. Did your heart rate go up? It probably did. You probably went from resting heart rate to 70-90% VO2 max, meaning your heart is pumping faster, and thus carrying more oxygen throughout your body. Wow-ee! My point is, you don't need a bunch of fancy stuff to be healthy. Eat right, exercise, cheat on your diet in moderation (it's actually GOOD for you, studies show!). Your body has homeostasis. Quit confusing it. :) PS: Infrared rays can cause cancer. Be careful with that.

You can't know the pH of "your body" since it differs in each tissue, from blood, to bone, to skin - from inside the cell to the extracellular matrix, and so on. Eating an "alkaline" diet is likely fine and helpful (since you would be avoiding processed and junk foods), but even these diets recommend at least some consumption of "acid" foods. Talk to an ND, MD or nutritionist/dietician who is well-versed in this subject and can recommend optimal nutrition for you.
