Great places to Kayak?

What are some great places to kayak in Italy, Croatia, and Greece?

• It would be really cool to do some island-hopping, and visit little towns along the way. Any historical architecture on the way (Greek, Roman, etc) would be really nice to see too.

  I know this question has been asked some time ago, but here it is, for the record :) Islands, especially the less inhabited ones, are the best, as well as rocky coastal areas, particularly of Dalmatia (I might be biased here). Islands: Vis (which is also amazing for snorkelling and diving), Mljet (especially the national park!), Hvar and Pakleni Islands, Korčula (medieval town) and many other islands, have the amazing clear sea. Coastal area: Makarska riviera and Cetina river (rafting, too) and Zadar area I guess the only thing to keep in mind is that some of those islands get very busy during summer and to try and avoid kayaking around harbours, because of the ferries and other boards. Oh, and 'jugo' wind (also known as 'sirocco' in Italy)
