How can I make cheese powder for a popcorn topping?

If there is one thing I love, it's white cheddar cheese popcorn found in most local supermarkets. However, I travel a lot outside of the US and would like to be able to make my own. In addition to that, I'm sure making my own dry powdered cheese popcorn topping is healthier than whatever the chips company is giving me. How would I dry the cheese and make my own cheese powder popcorn topping?
