How would you create a promotional strategy?

How do you create an SEO strategy and monthly to do list in order to achieve your search engine position goals?

  • Most SEO clients want to see results as quickly as possible, so ideally the strategy you suggest should bring results in both long term and short term. How do you determine how much of what (on site changes, content, links, type of links, etc, etc) you have to do to achieve your rankings? What tools do you recommend and what steps do you take to know what the best strategy should be for your client's website?

Great overview answer by . Here's my quick take to hopefully give you some feet and get things off the ground. 1) Create a unified checklist of On-Site Technical items. This looks good to clients, gives you a quick action plan, and also can unify project management all in one place (we use Basecamp). 2) Create an Editorial Calendar that ties in blog posts, additional resources, and social. Consider your head key terms as well as long-tail keywords. Also consider content marketing principles such as buying cycles, customer pain points, etc. 3) Use your clients existing relationships to build the first set of links - clients, partners, friends, associations, etc. 3) Don't focus too much on the competition (sorry Ravi). Organic search engine traffic is essentially unlimited. Go for it with great content and great links and before you know it, things will really get going. Good luck!!

It is not as simple as it looks nor as complex. Some things are simple and some are complex. So here is an attempt to give a concise answer. Your SEO strategy will be determined by where the client is and where they want to reach, the feasibility for achieving this, the budget and the time frame required. So for this first you need to know Where the client is with their website currently? Where the client expects to be in the given timeframe? What is the budget allocated? Then you have to make a plan which addresses The SEO competition. The SEO elements to work on for the website. The content strategy for the website and off site. The link acquisition opportunity. The social strategy. Website usability and conversion optimization. Brand building. Metrics to measure progress. Analytics, tracking and reporting of these metrics. And various others. Then you make a list of to dos with resources, responsibilities and timeframes. Tools are plentiful. You will need Analytics Project and Task management MS-Excel, Powerpoint SEO and Social Media automation (with manual overview) Email Website crawling software (Xenu, Screaming Frog, etc.) Backlink Analysis All Google Tools (Analytics, Webmaster) Research tools (For link building, social, etc.) And many more (there are huge lists on most major blogs). Hope this helps.

Your question's answer will be a 1000 page SEO book:) So first of all, you need to research every topic you mentioned separately to get best answer. But first you need to understand competition. For example, keyword:cell phones will be really hard to rank in first page but shower gel will be really easy. So first define keywords, competition. After that you easily can say your short term and long term targets. There is no any custom SEO strategy, you are going to customise it to your customers. If your customer's website is new you will start with technical guides in order to site to be indexed properly from search engines. And also you must work hard on brand name oriented link building in first 6 months because google doesnt give so much credit new web sites. But if website isnot new so you need to start with audit then content creation etc. It all really depends on your customer

There isn't a 100% guaranteed to-do list that will achieve your serp (search engine ranking position) goals. But there are some techniques that we use to increase those chances. 1. Analyzing keyword competition. We use Ultimate Niche Finder for that because it helps us measure the difficulty of each keyword that our clients want to go after. 2. Analyze backlink portfolio. We use SEO Spyglass for this because it gives us an overview of how powerful the top 3 or 10 competitors are. Those are the 2 key strategies we use.

As quick as possible results destroy the website reputation because of  google penalty. If client need good results as soon as possible so this is not possible because keyword indexing take a time minimum 3 months and more. Mostly time depends on competition of client website industry. An expert is not only work for rankings he/she also build and maintain search traffic. The method of quick optimization is firstly follow the competitors websites activities, choose the best keywords low competition but good monthly searches easy to gain top position, add high quality content minimum 1000 words post, complete on-site SEO and last off-sie SEO linkbuilding. All work done step by step so I think client achieve targeted results so far.
