What are the higher studies options available to a Bachelor in materials Science who is actively interested in research?

  • I am currently in my final year at IIT Kanpur and am interested in the area of electronic materials and mechanical processing of materials. I am looking for PhD programs in Europe. I have an average CGPA, but have good independent research to back up for me. What would be some good options?

    There are lots of good Materials Science doctoral programs in Europe. However, some of the universities require a Masters degree for admission into their Phd programs. Also, the funding situation in Europe is not very encouraging for international students coming from non-Euro countries. I'll suggest you think about graduate programs in non-Europian countries too especially US as there are many good materials science programs there. However, for Europe some of the really good materials science programs are: University of Cambridge (UK) ETH Zurich (Switzerland) EPFL (Switzerland) University of Oxford (UK) TU Berlin (Germany) Imperial College London (UK)
