What is oxygen ozone therapy for lumbar disc herniation?
-
I want to know the procedure of therapy and it would be nice if someone share their personal experience regarding the therapy.
-
Answer:
Oxygen-ozone therapy is a minimally invasive treatment for lumbar disk herniation that exploits the biochemical properties of a gas mixture of oxygen and ozone. It entails injection of oxygen/ozone mixture into herniated disc with the goal to shrink herniation and relief pressure on the nerve root. It is rarely done in the US. Most studies are coming from Europe showing that the results are same as injection of steroids.
