Which TV series should I watch first: Breaking Bad (TV series) or The Wire (TV series)?

I have heard a lot of praise for both. Which one do you recommend to watch?

The Wire needs engrossment ,to develop that you MUST watch Breaking Bad first, then "walk through the garden" of The Wire.

Depends on you, I'd say... Both have a similar level of tension... The Wire has no connection among its seasons apart from the fact that they're all about the same city. The First season is about drugs and police, the second about the shipping industry and so on... The cast change too from season to season... The idea is to show the various facets of a city... Breaking Bad, on the other hand, is about drugs alone. It is more modern and the seasons are (obviously) interconnected. I'd advise you find good subtitles as mid third season has a lot of spanish! Nonetheless, if you were to ask what I'd watch first... It'd be Breaking Bad. It is simply more recent and has a good pace compared to The Wire
