What type of banner ads get the most clicks?

Banner ads that are targeted, either by demographics, content, or location, can have CTR's that are much higher than your usual CTR. For example, http://www.vervemobile.com/pdfs/LIR/LIR_web.pdf shows that on average, CTR's are doubled when ads are delivered based on location (one case even shows a 4.1% CTR). http://www.agencypost.com/retargeting-yay-or-nay-2/ have also shown to be more effective than your standard banner. In general, banner ads get little to no clicks on both mobile and desktop, as users have trained themselves to ignore and avoid clicking on them.
