Is it possible for Indian Nationals to travel to Gilgit-Baltistan? To explain, can a Indian national travel to India from Kashgar in western China overland via Gilgit Baltistan (entering India at Kargil through Skardu)?

Despite efforts and demands to open the Kargil-Skardu road over the years, the opening has never materialized. As such, you will not be able to cross the border into India via the Skardu-Kargil route. That said, I don't think it should be impossible for Indian nationals to travel from Kashgar to Skardu - here's a travel company which operates jeep adventures including a drive down from Urumqi to Khaplu (via Kashgar and Skardu) : http://www.silkroad-adventure.com/k-karakurm-jeep.html Though getting the required clearances and permits for this trip might not exactly be a cakewalk, I imagine.

Here I dont know if this question is still open, but I want to have some addsI don't know how hard it is for an indian to enter the Gilgit-Baltistan territory, Pakistan, but a Chinese traveller seems to be much easier to get through Gilgit-Baltista along with the KKH (The Karakoram Highway) and eventually arrived in Islamabad successfully.
