Why do some people's eye colors change with their age?

I have heard that this phenomenon happens in 10 to 15 percent of the Caucasian population. However, this also happens on me, an East Asian. Observed by my family and friends, my eye color has changed from honey to dark brown(nearly black) since 2009.
