I'm a webmaster at a college newspaper and I've recently been hired an assistant. What kinds of tasks would an assistant webmaster be typically relegated? What are your job responsibilities like as a webmaster at your organization and how would you best divide those responsibilities?

Off the top of my head, there could be a variety of things, including the following: Cosmetic changes (HTML/CSS) Server maintenance (Updates, troubleshooting issues with server errors) Site speed improvements (implementing a CDN, image optimization) Training users on using the backend (In person training, writing manuals, video tutorials The things I would consider relegating to an assistant would generally be the less important things. Anything that you feel is not extremely complicated, can be easily learned, and is not mission critical to the success of the site.
