What can I do to get into a good university?

What are the things that I can do to get an admit to a good university for MS in US , other than getting a good GRE score?

  • I am a final year student in one of the not so famous private colleges of India , I am really interested in pursuing MS in some good university abroad , inspite of my interests and efforts I could not publish a journal or do some geat project because of no support from my teachers, as they are disinterested , what can I do to improve my chances of getting an admit into a good university ?

  • Answer:

    1. Dont sit in placements as they will distract you. 2. Try getting an internship in your core industry. 3. Develop good communication skill. 4. Don't just be a part of your academics. You have a life beyond that like any campaign, NGO or start up. 5. Have faith. If you are so keen to study further, you will get a chance for sure. ALL THE BEST! :-)

First of all, you also should have a good GPA in your college in India. And then, its your internships, Co-Ops and work experience ( strongly encouraged ). Also, they would be very keen on your off academia performance like your social activities such as involvement in different organizations and community services ( these show your many skills like team work and other such stuff ). And then comes your college essays, possibly. People evaluating your college essays are very powerful and of course resourceful people, they asses your personality, mentality and your attitude, this part plays a huge role in your admissions..as I am told. And if it is a good university you are aiming for, they may also consider your courses, I mean your choice of what courses you feel are important to your career. I am an Undergrad here in the United States and even I want to do my Masters’ here. So all this is pure novice info, I would also suggest you search on other feeds as well. Hope this helps…
