The career in Financial Planning or Nursing?

Which career has a more promising outlook: a registered nurse, a pharmacist, or a degree in accounting/finance? And why?

  • There are a lot of career sites, social media outlets and news articles pointing to careers in the nursing field, Pharmaceuticals, and Finance (i.e. accounting, bookkeeper, financial management).  Another area of interest would be a degree in Human Resources or Marketing and Event Planning. Which program would be the quickest to complete with a solid salary over the next 5 to 10 years and a promising job growth? Thank you for any feedback in advance.

  • Answer:

I would say nursing and pharmaceuticals offer the most money early on in your career as you can make really good pay in both fields with minimal experience, but they also would be more likely to max out on pay long term.   20 years from now if you are successful and continue to advance in your jobs, finance would likely offer a better long term payoff.
