What is the scope of m tech in electronics?

I am a third-year B.Tech student in electronics and communication. Is there any scope of embedded in India?

  • And what it all needs to be an embedded engineer?

  • Answer:

Embedded is a Skill not Knowledge. Keep on doing things one day you will become expert. You need only a coach. LED blinking is a start. Always starting is very tough. Write your own program to blink a LED first then you will understand Embedded. Also control any LEDs using few switches. That's it YOU HAVE ENTERED the embedded field. My experience is 27 years. I am still hands on. A car driver never tells that I know only Alto or Santro or Toyota driving. He says I know driving. If you can drive one car very well you can drive any car. Please understand. Start with 8051. Put all your effort to do everything by yourself. Do not copy  and paste. Enjoy every moment. Start investing small money on buying development boards. Every day spend ONE HOUR to learn C programming. Wish you all the best.

Yes. However you need to wake up and act. Do not join any training institute. All (repeat All) of them are useless. Majority of them are outright fraud. Majority among rest are genuine but still living few yeas back. The few exceptional ones do exist as pointed by some fellow members, However I am yet to see them. Just start developing real products using latest technology. Get a mentor , some one who is managing a startup in your city. I have been working with embedded for last more than 35 years. And every six months I upgrade myself. So if you are studying 8051 or 8086, I can assure you good marks only and not an embedded career.

Embedded systems will have a big future. Practically every electronic product and systems including aircrafts are heavily dependent on embedded system engineers. I used to work at SAFRAN Engineering (Aerospace) where half the work used to be embedded systems. NASSCOM predicts big growth for the field apparently. Check out below site. http://www.knewron.co.in/Writeups.asp?id=51 Being an electronics engineer what you need to do especially is to master C programming. Usually, colleges end up giving relatively lesser importance to programming for ECE students and you lose out since embedded is all about programming today when it comes to most jobs. Scope can only be defined by the attempts made by the enthusiast. If you have zeal to build embedded product, you don't need any training institute. You just need to know how to GOOGLE things.Indulge yourself in Google Forums, Community, there is plenty of stuff to read over internet. I don't say 8051/8085 are out-dated, there is still various companies developing their products over it, but this is not the point, the point here is, you have to start somewhere to reach your destination, and the easiest among them is by practical approach.I say buy an Arduino Board and blink an LED, and improve as you move on.

I can say definitely yes.bocz we are developing nation even though most of automated and high tech industrial and consumer electronics products are imported in more compare to in house development.Embedded field in India lacks good qualified engineers compared to software service industry.

embedded has good scope but i advise you first get the highest score in Btech ,then Do Mtech in embedded technology and Phd in embedded area and land to intel/Cisco companies or do independent research and get satisfy yourself embedded is not LED glowing making circuits copying circuits you must know how LED blinks indepth study hard

I would like to start my answer by appreciating for his introductory remark. I hope if you once about the very question you have asked you will get the answer and to be noted that those answers are true as far as my knowledge! This is a bit tough question, seeing people discussing the scope of embedded development in india is great. But, Just restructure the question and ask yourself. Is there any scope for me in the embedded industry? Are my skills competent with what the industry requires now? Can i make myself an undisputable position in the industry?Even if there is only a single vacancy worldwide, there is a scope for it.
