How Do You Run An Iso Image?

Is there a tool to test DVD ISOs? Quality of the image, with playing random time slots and taking snapshots. I am looking for a tool to QA 100s of DVD ISO files, that reaches me. I manually load them into a virtual drive and manually run them in my Dvd software.

  • Answer:

What you need is an ISO player with a scriptable interface. Your VM controller should already have an interface to script which ISO is mounted. You could then write a fairly straightforward piece of software which mounts each ISO and plays clips. Then you could watch the content go by and make notes on any issues you see. If you have two VMs then you could script them to play consecutive clips alternately, in such a way that the content streams continuously for you across two VMs, and while one plays a clip the other is mounting the next ISO and cueing up the next clip. That's probably what I would do.
