How to remove special character from string?

How can I remove some characters from the end of string in php?

  • I have a string of variable length. I want to remove substring from the end of the string. String length can be : 50-1000 characters.

  • Answer:

    $var = substr($var, 0, strpos($var, "---"));

In addition to 's answer, just add a trim too, to strip newlines and whitespace from the final result. $var = trim(substr($var, 0, strpos($var, "---")));
