What are good job search engines?

What are the most popular job search engines in China?

  • Local and Expat focused are both of interest.  Where do you employers go to find good talent?  Where do you talented go to find good employers?  What are some niche job search sites in China?

  • Answer:

For high end recruiting, Linkedin is still the first place to think of, especially in IT industry. There are lots of sites for lower end users, such as http://zhaopin.com, http://chinahr.com, http://58.com, http://ganji.com. Using BBS of top university is a good way of getting fresh hire, especially like http://newsmth.net whose users are mainly Tsinghua alumnus. Lots have been using weibo, China's equivalent of Twtter, but personally I doubt the effect.

http://www.zhaopin.com/, http://www.51job.com/ and http://www.51job.com/ are among the most popular job search sites in China. These are the big volume based platforms, which rather target local talent. As far as I know there is no English language version available for these platforms and as an employer you need to register with a valid Chinese business license before you will be able to advertise jobs.A useful source for local experienced hires is https://www.liepin.com. Different from most of the traditional recruiting sites which serve as information distribution platforms and gain revenues from advertisements, http://Liepin.com gives priorities to providing paid and offline services to candidates, headhunters, and enterprises. But again, there is no English version available so far and you need a Chinese business license to sign up. https://www.linkedin.com formally entered the Chinese market in early 2014 and since then, the number of users has grown from four million to 13 million. LinkedIn is especially useful if you are looking for English speaking managers (both foreigners and locals). You can also advertise job postings through the foreign chambers of commerce in China (e.g. https://jobmarket.china.ahk.de/, http://www.europeanchamber.com.cn/en/job-vacancies). These might be useful if you are looking for foreign talent in China or some Chinese candidates with overseas background. For recruitment of fresh graduates the messaging app http://www.wechat.com/ is getting more and more popular and I know from a few international firms that are using it successfully.

Most popular job boards in china is http://51job.com, http://zhaopin.com,http://liepin.com,http://chinahr.com,etc. http://lagou.com,http://baixing.com are some niche job search sites in China. However, all these job boards do not have English version. If expats want to find a job in China, you could head over to http://jobs.echinacities.com/?fromat=120 ,enjoyChina ,China Daily .
