How To Prepare For Ceed Exam?

I am currently in college doing second year B. Tech and I want to know when I can prepare for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering exam

  • I am currently pursuing my B. Tech degree in Software Engineering and I have just started my second year. My parents are favouring an M. Tech course rather than doing MBA. Which one is better? Usually students are not expected to start preparing for GATE exam right from the first year (or are they?). I want to prepare for GATE exam but I don't know when to start. I don't want the GATE preparation to interfere with my B. Tech because the marks obtained in my second and third year matter the most when it comes to campus placement. Which is the best time to prepare for GATE? How should I prepare for GATE? Does it need intense practice like IIT-JEE or can I adjust it with my B. Tech? I don't know the toughness of the syllabus of GATE exam so I don't know how much time I should dedicate to preparation of GATE exam. What material should I refer for GATE preparation? Do B. Tech students have a completely different syllabus from GATE? I'm giving job a high priority. I want to do job first, at least for two years. I was wondering if I could prepare for GATE during these two years. Would it be possible to prepare well while handling a job?

First of all i need to appreciate that you are having this question at this stage of B.tech . Actually this is the best time to think about. The answer for your question lies in which type of student you are If you are interested in COMPUTERS and PROGRAMMING then it is best for you to choose M.tech. let me explain the difference between the 2 options M.tech and M.B.A there are two types of people ( both are smart only) 1. The one those who find their satisfaction in programming. these people want to work hard for their working challenges ( they wanted to do more programming ie they wanted to create and build ) . for these M.tech is best. 2. the 2nd they want to manage people and access risk and they need power and have less work. for these M.B.A is best both want FAT PAY CHECKS but it is open FACT that M.B.A guys will get sooooo much when compare to M.tech guys but for M.B.A it is recommended to have 2 years of work experience till now i told generally now let us go in deep but before going further you need to answer for this that at what level you are AIMING? I mean do u want to get into the BEST or AVERAGE or SOMEWAY I mean if you want to do M.tech in only IITs or { I I I T or BITS or VIT} or casually some GOOD UNIVERSITIES . after reading the above line you might whispering in your mind like I I T If i am CORRECT . then YES... GATE is not EASY believe me G A T E   I S   N O T   A T   A L L   E A S Y at this stage you might think YOU CAN DO IT YES you can do it but it NEEDS a CONSIDERABLE amount of preparation for this you don't need to be CLASS TOPPER you don't need to be veryyyyyyy good student. even if you have a pile of backlogs you can do it. BUT you need to have  ZEAL. ZEAL FOR GETTING INTO IITS . ZEAL FOR DOING BEYOND AN ORDINARY SOFTWARE ENGINEER DOES. BUT for CRACKING GATE ( I mean to get seat in IITs) you need to LEARN SUBJECT , u need to BECOME STRONG in CONCEPT. it doesn't matter you have 95 % in a subject . the PREPARATION for gate is DIFFERENT. because while preparing for Gate you will think at a concept in a PROBLEM ORIENTED WAY. believe me you will get sooo much clarity when you prepare in this way. don't FOLLOW your PARENTS or OTHERS follow your own opinion because you only know yourself most anyway you will succeed in your life but the level of SUCCESS matters after 5 years you shouldn't be REGRET like  "OH SHOULD HAVE DONE LIKE THIS" WHAT YOU WANT TO BECOME IN FUTURE 1. Do you want to become an ENGINEER in PRODUCT BASED COMPANIES LIKE GOOGLE , FACEBOOK , OR something which are BIG or want to get in to RESEARCH 2. Do you just want to get into SERVICE BASED COMPANIES like INFOSYS , COGNIZANT , WIPRO 3. Do you want to get into TOP MANAGEMENT POSITIONS in TOP companies 4. Do you want to get into management positions in some companies if you choose 1st option go for GATE {for IITs}                     for  2nd go directly for job after B.tech                     for  3rd  go for CAT {for IIMs} (preferably after 2 years of work exp)                     for  4th  go for M.B.A directly after B.tech but don't do M.tech in normal colleges or universities Usually students are not expected to start preparing for GATE exam right from the first year (or are they?) YES THEY ARE only if they want to get into M.tech the succeeding year of B.tech and who prepare by THEMSELVES  I want to prepare for GATE exam but I don't know when to start. I don't  want the GATE preparation to interfere with my B. Tech because the  marks obtained in my second and third year matter the most when it comes  to campus placement. Which is the best time to prepare for GATE? MY SUGGESTION is this is the best time to start because GATE is not ENTIRELY another subject like ROCKET science it is what which is in your B.tech curriculum if you prepare from now this will ease your burden in preparing gate and which in turn help full for your academics and managing good percentage is not so much difficult in b.tech ( only if you are not just preparing night before exams) remember this IF ANYTHING WHICH WILL GIVE GREAT FUTURE , SATISFACTION , MONEY , RECOGNITION FOR THE NEXT 45 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE can you give that much effort IIT-JEE is tougher than GATE but GATE is not EASY seriously NOT AT ALL EASY IIT-JEE tests 3 SUBJECTS only but for GATE you need to prepare 16 SUBJECTS on an average each can be divided 8 main sub parts ( containing 6 to 10 topics) each sub topic will take 10 to 15 hours so 16 * 8 * 10 = 1280 hours along B.tech you can spare mostly 3 hours a day let us take you dedicated 4 hours a day so 1280/4= 320 days if u prepare 24 days a month     320/24 = 13.33 =~ 13 months take 5 months for each semester exams (no need for final semester) so at least total of 18 months this much long duration because with your parallel study along with B.tech i am not trying to convince you for next 2.5 years till 2016 feb 2nd sunday (on which GATE exam conducts) but it will take considerable amount of time there is no shortcut book like "30 DAYS TO CRACK GATE" Do B. Tech students have a completely different syllabus from GATE? NO , GATE syllabus is 100 % part of B.TECH syllabus only there is a subject named TOC ( theory of computing ) which not part of IT branch Would it be possible to prepare well while handling a job? IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO CRACK while doing JOB and if you do jon next after B.tech there is more probability that you will prefer M.B.A than M.tech AND NOW MAIN STORY STARTS HERE HOW TO PREPARE FOR GATE?????? preparing for GATE mainly contains 3 steps: 1. you need to build concept by thorough understanding of textbooks. 2. you need to solve topic wise questions so that you will get deeper understanding of concepts. 3.practice all previous GATE papers show that you will come to know the pattern and this is THE MOST IMPORTANT IN GATE PREPARATION. there are subjects like ALGORITHMS , COMPUTER NETWORKS , OS , CO, TOC in which u need to pay more attention. and there are subjects like numerical methods, linear algebra which will give guarantee marks with less efforts i am sooo tired by typing all these so that i couldn't end this correctly sorry for that i will try i can edit or add more next time message me for further quires all the best for your bright future
