How to integrate sencha touch plus phone gap?

Which is better for mobile apps? jquery mobile OR sencha touch?

  • Which is better for mobile apps? jquery mobile OR sencha touch? Does Sencha support windows mobiles? when to use jquery mobile and when to use the secha touch?

  • Answer:

In one of my posts I have shared our experience of using different libraries and frameworks. Hope, it will be helpful http://stanfy.com/blog/our-investigation-on-html5-frameworks-and-libraries/ Although after all, we did switch to native development. Speaking of the devices support, check out the details here http://www.sencha.com/products/touch/features/ Ñ– http://jquerymobile.com/gbs/. Choice of the libraries and frameworks depends on the features of the app, you need to break them down and see which of the frameworks will satisfy the requirements and expectations. The bottom line is that most people are more familiar with  syntaxes and philosophy of JQuery, whereas with Sencha the approach might be a little different and consequently we'll take more time to deal with.

The two can't be directly compared as they are two different types of framework. jQuery is not a full stack framework like Sencha Touch, so you'll need to add microframeworks and other plugins to get the same functionality. Sencha also has tools that remove unused framework classes and widgets before going into production. jQuery touch is suited for small apps, where Sencha is more suited for larger apps.
