What should I bring to San Francisco?

• I'll be moving there this Saturday, so the time of year is April - Future. If it helps (or hurts?) I'll be on foot and working in Mission Bay. I'm packing light, planning on taking only my macbook and a few clothing items and buying the necessities there– along with everything else actually. What should I bring? Where would you shop in SF? Cold, warm, turtlenecks, sandals? Do you have an apartment or room for rent? See what I did there? Edit: I have an awesome airbnb studio for two weeks, which in the meantime I'll be looking for an apartment which according to lore is really really hard. Any tips?

  As you can see in my bio, I describe San Francisco's weather. The weather in the City can change several times a day from warm to freezing, sunny to rainy and back again. Being born and raised in the City, you learn to layer. I would bring: long-sleeves t-shirts short sleeves t-shirts. A good warm pull over sweater Hoodie warm coat gloves umbrella (keep this with you at all times) a pair of sunglasses (hard to believe but you will need them because when the sun shines in the City, it is intense) a heavy scarf a wool hat or beanie A reuseable canvas bag (all bags in stores in the City and County of San Francisco cost 10 cents by law) Finding an apartment in the City is not hard. It's finding one that is affordable and in a nice part of town that's hard. One tip I do have is try not to get an apartment in the Tenderloin. The neighborhood is filled with SF's homeless, drug addicts, drug dealers, and hookers. And if you can't stay away from this area for whatever reason (i can't think of one), make sure your building has a doorman or a serious security gate.
