Answer:
If you have done CVL KYC and have broker account then all ELSS are quick and hassle free. For good returns, checkout relative performances on http://valuresearchonline.com. If you have not, collect your address, identity and photo, and plan to spend a day (1) getting preliminary CVL KYC receipt and (2) visiting a bank or, preferably, mutual fund registrar (search for cams or karvy offices) to apply for investment with CVL receipt. Lastly, you can always fill your 80C quota with tax saving FD or PPF with your existing bank which will take 1-2 hours max.

Tax-saving mutual funds are also known as Equity Linked Saving Schemes (ELSS). The primary objective of these funds is to provide a tax rebate under section 80C of the Income Tax Act. They are also exempt from long-term capital gains taxes. The Equity Linked Savings Scheme (ELSS) could be open-ended or close-ended in nature. Majority of the ELSS schemes are open-ended. This means that they are open for subscription on all business days. As the name suggests, the scheme primarily invests in equity market by buying equity stocks of companies listed on the stock exchanges. There are different types of equity funds such as Diversified funds, Sector specific funds and Index based funds. The diversified funds are the best out of all the equity https://www.bajajfinserv.in/investment/mutual-funds/mutual-fund-individual.aspx , as it reduces the chance of huge loss. The benefit of diversification is that it invests in companies spread across sectors and market capitalization and thus has less to get affect by the downfall of one sector. To know more about tax saving mutual funds, read this post "http://blog.bajajfinserv.in/save-tax-by-investing-in-mutual-funds/"

Equity Linked Saving Schemes are a special type of equity mutual fund investments which give an investor tax deduction benefits up to Rs. 1,50,000 per year under section 80C of the Income Tax Act. The investment made in ELSS are locked-in for three years during which it cannot be redeemed, transferred or pledged. Besides, an ELSS holds at least 80% of the portfolio in equities. There are a number of ELSS are available in the market. But it does not make sense to invest in too many ELSS schemes since the tax benefit is limited to Rs 1,50,000. Thus, we have selected two best ELSS based on their 3 years return and beta. Scheme Launch Date Expense ratio (As on 31 March 2015) 1 Year CAGR 3 Years CAGR 5 Years CAGR Beta AXIS Long Term Equity Fund (G) Dec 17, 2009 2.46% 21.56 29.61 18.67 0.86 Birla Sun Life Tax Relief '96 (G) March 29, 1996 2.36% 22.07 24.85 10.77 0.92 Source: Advisesure Research These funds have almost same objectives - to generate long-term capital growth from a diversified portfolio of predominantly equity and equity related securities. According to the best return criteria - Axis Long Term Equity is the best ELSS fund in the market right now (based on past 5 years risk and return performance and it's consistent rank). Rest of your criteria belongs to the execution platform from where you can buy this mutual fund (hassle free to manage, quickest for investment, etc.). My suggestion will be to open an Insta Account with ICICI Direct MF paltform.

I am suggesting following schemes, suggestions are on very general and basis of their performances. -Axis long Term equity, Birla tax plan or Franklin Tax shield. Select schemes or funds as per you own investment objectives and take into consideration your own risk capacity, time duration before investing. ELSS is a tax saving instruments which comes with 3 years lock in period. If you are planning to do SIP in ELSS then please note that each of your payment gets locked for 3 years i.e. your total sum will get locked for more than 3 years. therefore invest in schemes after you fully understands it. all the best...! Thanks Thanks https://fundmatters.wordpress.com/

Axis Long Term Equity Fund This fund has been doing well since inception, the returns are also on the higher side. Please visit Value Research Online to know more about this fund's performance. Start a regular SIP, there is a 3 year lock in period, while investing it is always better to invest for longer periods for compounding to take effect.
