How can you block a website on a Mac?

Is there a wireless router model that you can block certain website based on Mac Address?

  • In my home, if I want to block kids of access certain website, what can I do? I cannot do this on my kids' computer because I want them to have admin privileges so that they can install software themselves. But I do want to prevent them from spending excessive amount of time on certain websites such as youtube. My router do have the capability of blocking certain websites, but it is limited to 5 and I do not want to block my own usage of it. Help!

  • Answer:

Gargoyle router is the turnkey solution you are looking for: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/ It's an openWRT fork. Very stable and exactly what you need I guess. You do need a compatible router, or buy one of them. I'd suggest you read on the website about the features.
