How can one improve one's organising skills and abilities? How can one identify (like in a  interview) organising skills in others?

Two ideas come to mind: 1. Ask a situationally-based question to get a sense of how well they have utilized their organization skills in the past. Natural organizers will say they like to have a decision made early, they are good at finishing tasks, and they like to have a lot of structure. If you hear the opposite, such as not making decisions until needed, they are good at starting many tasks, and they like to have a lot of freedom, then you can inquire what organizing skills they have learned along the way and give examples of such. I have also found that just being very direct and honest with them about what is important to the company is helpful, and to ask them how well of it fit they think they would be, why or why not. People tend to give less bs answers if you are frank with them like that. 2. One director I know gives his candidates the entire list of questions he wants to ask them as soon as they sit down for the interview. He says it is up to them to answer all of these questions in the time allotted. It is to see how well they organize their thoughts and manage their time. Clever! He says it is very telling and effective.
