What is it like being a British student in America?

For an international student studying in America on a F1 visa, what is the best way to return to America, if one accepts a job outside America, and one does not want to do grad school?

  • I'm Singaporean, and I'm thinking of working for a F500 company in Singapore. But I would like to return to New York after a few years.

  • Answer:

There are several ways one can return to America, but the way you choose would depend on your need , you've already ruled out grad school , so here are the other ways I can think of. 1. H1B( work visa ). If you have a job offer in the United States , you can return on an H1B visa. 2. Green card. If you've got a close relative in the united states , they can sponsor you a green card that allows you to live permenantly in the US. 3. O1 visa. If one is extraordinaryly talented , they are apply for an O1 visa. Other visa types can be looked up on: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_the_United_States

There are different work visa options. If this company in Singapore has a qualifying relationship with a U.S. company (affiliate, subsidiary, parent, etc.), then you may be eligible for an L-1 visa if you work at the company for at least a year in a specialized knowledge capacity or an executive or managerial position. There is also the H-1B visa and as you are a Singaporean citizen, an H-1B1 visa (which is similar to the H-1B). *I am not an attorney* Cheers, Jackie from http://bridge.us
