The smaller islands/atolls in Papua New Guinea are  "sinking" ... in some parts of PNG, the govt is working on resettling  people on the bigger islands. I think that is experienced by other  islanders in the Pacific as well. Some govts are serious about that ...  in our case, it does not seem to be a priority for the govt because the  majority of the people live on the mainland, New Guinea, and therefore  most do not see the effects of the sea level rise issue as islanders do

This is a huge question that has a massive answer! I live in NW Pennsylvania, just south of Erie so, on a small scale, I have made many personal changes.  For instance, I now wear lightweight underwear when out hunting because brown and deer ticks have become so common. Previously I never saw more than a few brown ticks during my entire life. I now put studded tires on my vehicles to cope with the frequent icy road conditions due to the freeze-thaw cycles we now experience, mainly from the Arctic Amplification effect on the jet stream.  In the spring we now have tree sprinklers because of now frequently common late frosts that hit the fruit trees - something that only started within the last ten years. To help combat climate change I have put an off-white roof on my house to reflect sunlight. I also try to reduce energy consumption.  One way I do this is by foraging and growing food.  That helps by reducing energy used in transportation and packaging of foods. I have also developed a successful method of gardening without plowing, tilling or weeding that works quite well.

Since you don't wish to discuss the veracity or dishonesty of 'climate change'--which I assume you mean in the liberal sense of the term, to wit, man-made, then here is what I AM doing to prepare for its impact. NOTHING. It isn't happening. Every assumption about it has been disproved. In the 70's, we were supposedly on the cusp of the beginning of another ice age. In the 90's, we were supposedly less than 20 years from the boiling end of the earth. Neither happened, because climate change is not happening in the way all those 'widely-accepted' (and government-funded) scientists say. They even changed their name for the fictional phenomenon. It started off being 'global warming,' remember? Then since that hasn't happened, to  keep the political football in play, they changed it to 'climate change.' It's easy to say it's getting hotter when the vast majority of the temperature tracking sensors are in industrialized areas such as airports and big cities, yet the arctic ice is growing--scientific fact. So, I'm doing NOTHING. I dress cool when it's hot, and warm when it's cold.
