What is the easiest way for an experienced US lawyer to become qualified in a commonwealth jurisdiction?
-
It can be any commonwealth jurisdiction - UK, Canada, Cayman Islands, BVI, NZ, Jamaica, whatever... is there any country that just requires an easy exam or something like that for foreign qualified lawyers?
-
Answer:
You can become qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales via the QLTS (qualified lawyers transfer scheme). There is more information about it here: http://www.sra.org.uk/qlts/I donât know if other jurisdictions have similar opportunities.
