The Big Lebowski (1998 movie): If Bunny was never kidnapped, how did the German nihilists know about her disappearance?

• Bunny went to Las Vegas on her own. How did the German nihilists (who were Nazis, as they were threatening castration) know she has disappeared. If they were a set up by the other Jeff Lebowski (the millionare), why were repeatedly demanding ransom from the Dude? They even cut a toe because of it. And why did Jackie Treehorn call the Dude to meet him? Lotta ins, lotta outs- can somebody explain this complex kidnapping story.

  When you look for the intrigue, the ultimate conclusion is this: the happenings in the Big Lebowski are a combination of a series of poorly implemented ploys that have collided in one glorious orchestra of incompetence. Bunny was never kidnapped. One thing is clear though, everything starts with Bunny. Before she leaves, we learn about her relationship with Karl Hungus, one of the Nihilists; he's floating drunk and passed out in the pool when we first meet Bunny. They were co-stars in a beaver picture. This is Bunny's connection to the Nihilists; they are friends. Bunny's activities are pretty basic. She leaves unannounced. She probably hooks up with Karl Hungus during her sojourn or possibly leaves with him, and she probably talks about how she hates her husband. We're left to imagine that Bunny and Karl came up with the kidnapping plan together. The Big Lebowski is an Ass His role in this is completely opportunistic.... maybe. The relationship with the Nihilists is purely Bunny's. He would never associate with such slackers! He took the opportunity to justify his pilfering of the Little Lebowski Urban Achievers fund, as explained by Maude. Jackie Treehorn Just Wants What's His Another twist, probably the most vital. As Jackie explains to the Dude, Bunny Lebwoski owes him money. Mr. Treehorn is the reason that the Dude is involved, as caused by his moronic thugs going to the wrong Jeffrey Lebowski's house. We don't know if the kidnapping ploy was partially concocted by Bunny to pay her debts to Jackie, but its highly possible. Karl Hungus, remember, is also in the porn industry. He may share the debt with Bunny, but we'll never know. Ultimately, it could have been Jackie that planned the whole thing! The signs of Jackie's power and pressure show up throughout the movie, up to the point where the Nihilists break down and have a street fight in the bowling alley parking lot (very un-Nihilist of them).
