They pay more tax because they earn more money than rest of Indians, traditionally they have not been into agriculture(due to they consider it violent or against their religious beliefs) and they are also not into anything labor extensive(reason they are physically week), so they choose tasks involvingĀ  mind and calculation, and knowledge based economy pay mental workers most

In India, we have the Income Tax Act, 1961. Under this act we have different heads of income. So all the incomes are covered by these heads. Income tax is paid, on self assessment basis for individuals, certain cases it is deducted from the income (TDS) and in certain cases it is collected at source. These tax is paid, against the PAN number. So in the end of the year, the individual files an Income Tax return. Where-in the total income is assessed. A taxable income is ascertained. Any deduction against it are adjusted. Then an income tax amount is calculated. Anything excess to the amount deposited against the PAN is refunded. Any shortage, paid. There three main documents here, which are needed to pay income tax. PAN Card Income Tax Return Other Documents (Payment proof, bank statements) None these aforementioned requires a person to disclose which faith he or she belongs to. Here have a look at 1) Form 49A. Called as the PAN Card Application form. Link : https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan2/servlet/NewPanApp 2) Income Tax Return, This is an ITR-1 3) Other documents, The only information is taken from here are the numerical, and the date of payment, and verified against the PAN number. There is no box, which needs to inform that the person who is paying income is of which faith. There millions of people who furnish these records. There is no-way, to know which religious belief people pay how much taxes. Hence any claim that so and so religious belief people paid this much taxes, is misleading. Summary, there is no record of religion, while paying the income tax, hence there can't be any claim that such percentage of income taxes are paid by the religious belief folks.
