What are some fun outdoor games?

What are some video games that would be fun to mock with friends?

  • Me and my friends are going to have what we collectively call “Shitty Game Night” and we need to find some old games that we want to play that have at least mixed reception, or flat out bad reception.   I say “old” because those tend to be perhaps harder to find but mostly affordable. I’m thinking either GameCube, Wii, PS1, PS2, and maybe PS3 (provided we can get PS3 games cheap now).   We tend to like JRPGs because of their likeliness to have bad voice acting. We love bad voice acting. One of the games me and my friends were laughing at really hard today was Radiata Stories on the PS2, so things in that vein are cool.   It’s okay if the game is 1 player, we can alternate. But if the game has up to 4 players, don’t hesitate to share!   The game doesn’t necessarily have to be bad, just fun to mock. Games that are just really weird can be mentioned too.   So. what are some old, "bad" video games that are still fun? Hit me with anything!

For PS1, the older Onimusha games have hilariously bad translations and are generally cheesy as hell. Also that one Capcom game about killing dinosaurs is fairly ridiculous.

The Shadow Hearts series for PS2 is a great JRPG series, with interesting and unique battle mechanics, and an excellent story.  The games were mostly well received, for good reasons. It is also incredibly mockable. Part of this is because the developers don't take themselves too seriously. Some of the characters, locations, and even items are blatantly silly, perverted, or just plain weird. Monsters are utterly freakish to the point where you often laugh when you first see them attack (as an example, one monster whaps you with his tail, but his head is twisted 180 degrees, so it looks... well, I think you can imagine.) The voice acting (for the first game, at least) is also utterly atrocious. The first line of the first game is delivered with all the seriousness (and accent) of Pinky asking Brain, "Gee, Brain, what are we gonna do tonight?"  And at one point a ghost story is told out loud with all the spookiness of a loony grandmother off her meds. There's 3 games in the series (I think), so you'll have plenty of material.  But best of all, it has the benefit of allowing you to play a series of good games, while still allowing you to laugh at it.

Try an spanish game named "Los Justicieros". It's strange, funny, terribly pixelated and bases its gameplay on low-quality video scenes.
