What do art students use for bags to carry supplies around campus?

How safe are U.S. universities that allow students to carry firearms on campus?

• Some colleges and universities in the United States allow students to carry firearms on campus, if they have valid firearm licenses. Are these institutions safe? Do international students avoid such campuses for safety reasons?

• Answer:

  The only state that I'm aware of that allows students to carry firearms on campus is Utah.  A non-exhaustive search didn't seem to show any indication that it's campuses are significantly more or less dangerous than comparable ones in surrounding states.  It's important to note that few, if any states will give someone a carry permit until they are 21.  Further, I believe that every state prevents students from keeping weapons in dorms.  As a result of these laws and rules, many, perhaps most students won't be able to legally carry firearms on campus anyway, even if it's legal to do so in a general sense.  Those who would be able to would be College seniors, those pursuing advanced degrees, and non-traditional students.  These don't generally represent a violent group of people.
