What is the most popular first person shooter game on PC?

    Most PC games are now distributed through Steam, and conveniently, Steam provides stats for what games are played. http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ According to that chart, Counter Strike 1.6 is still the top FPS on PC, followed by CS:S, and then MW2 or Black Ops. It doesn't surprise me at all that CS is still king.  Many people play it for its balance and the nostalgia.  Others, like myself, play it because I haven't invested in a better computer or those other games (I stole CS from my cousin :p)  At its peak, I believe there were thousands upon thousands of servers and hundreds of thousands concurrent players.

If you are looking for an attractive team based FPS you can try out Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory, which I've been playing for 6 years now.
